The ‘Our Shad Thames’ Facebook page has long provided an on-going record of the comings and goings of life around us with stunning photos that are posted almost daily. STRA is recognising this contribution and is calling on our talented local photographers living and working in the Shad Thames area to take part in our own special photo event and submit entries into a photographic competition.

An exhibition of entries will be displayed in The Greenhouse in Courage Yard 29-30 November

Entrants are able to submit up to a maximum of two photographs in either of the following categories (ie: two in one category, or one in each category)

Local category:  Photos of the local Shad Thames Residents Area from Mill Street to London Bridge. This can include images of the Shard, London Bridge and Tower Bridge.

Open category: Anything else – people, wildlife, architecture, abstract, landscape

Rules and entry form are above.  Entries to secretary@shadthames.org can be submitted from 1-22 November. Photographs can be from cell-phones, film and digital camera.

From our September Newsletter:

Photography Competition

Our own photo event and STRA invites entries to its third photography competition. It's open to all people living and working in the Shad Thames area.

We will be organising an exhibition in the Greenhouse in Courage Yard at the end of November. With a closing date in November, you have plenty of time to capture your best photos. And, of course, there will be prizes…

There are two categories – you can enter either or both categories –

·       Local photography in the Shad Thames area – between Mill Street and London Bridge, and including the Shard and Tower Bridge

·       Anything else – people, wildlife, architecture, abstract, landscape

In collaboration with London Photographic, STRA will hold some photography walks and teaching sessions – including using mobile phones to take photos.

The judges will be Peter Emrys-Roberts, local photographer; Alex LaBarge, London Photographic and photographer at STRA’s Jubilee event; Andrew McKelvie, photographer and STRA’s vice-chair.
